Residential work shaped by site, use, and the path to construction.

Originally built in the 1970s and largely unchanged since its completion, the Foxfield Residence was comprehensively reimagined for contemporary family living while establishing a cohesive new architectural identity. A newly structured second floor introduces vaulted ceilings, secondary bedrooms, a primary suite, family room, and laundry. On the main level, two-story volumes and a grand central staircase organize an in-law suite, custom kitchen, home gym, theater, formal dining room, and living spaces connected to the rear grounds through large pocketing steel doors. The regraded site incorporates a covered outdoor living room and kitchen as a natural extension of the architecture, while the expanded garage accommodates three vehicles and dedicated space for an RV or boat.

Garden Estate is a comprehensive residential transformation designed to bring the home forward into a more refined and contemporary standard of luxury living. The project extended beyond a traditional material update, addressing the interiors as a complete and coordinated environment. The scope included a redesigned kitchen, bedrooms, primary suite, game room, lighting, furniture planning, custom millwork, wall paneling, coffered ceilings, and carefully selected finishes throughout the residence. New architectural trusses were introduced within the primary bedroom to strengthen the character and scale of the vaulted ceiling. Exterior materials were also updated to create a cohesive relationship between the interior and exterior architecture, while a new detached ADU expanded the estate's flexibility for guests, extended family, or independent living.

A ground-up hillside residence composed in concrete, warm wood siding, and glass. Inside, an open steel-and-cable stair draws daylight through the full height of the house, while the kitchen, bar, and bath interiors use restrained finishes and graphic tile for contrast.

A comprehensive remodel and addition that transformed an approximately 8,300-square-foot residence into a 12,660-square-foot estate. The design reorganized and expanded the original house while establishing a more unified exterior composition, larger indoor-outdoor living areas, and a stronger relationship to the pool and landscape. Architectural renderings were used throughout design development to study the massing, proportions, openings, and material direction. The completed photography demonstrates how closely the built residence carried forward that original design intent.

A current Malibu fire rebuild advanced in collaboration with Via Rosa and the Rebuild Center. Bennett Design Studio took over management of the construction documents, consultant team, and coordination with Building & Safety. By organizing focused city meetings, consolidating technical information, and escalating decisions to the appropriate supervisors, the team secured approval through an initial review, a second review, and a final coordination meeting—avoiding an estimated ten months of additional review time.

An 8,300-plus-square-foot, two-story estate study developed to demonstrate the site's potential as a luxury residential project. The open-concept plan is organized around shaded courtyards, pools, and water features that support passive evaporative cooling and temper the desert microclimate. Deep overhangs and integrated shade structures limit direct solar gain while extending the living spaces into a resort-like landscape. Bennett Design Studio's role included design development, 3D modeling, construction-documentation support, and coordination of the architectural renderings.

A private residential development study for a newly acquired lot on Stradella. Retained by VPAD as project designer, Tony Bennett evaluated the site and established a design response within the applicable zoning, development, and construction parameters. Multiple massing studies and design iterations were developed to test scale, proportion, and site relationships, with architectural renderings used to refine the composition and evaluate how the residence would sit within its context. The project then advanced into construction documentation before the developer's construction-management team assumed responsibility for permitting, submittal coordination, and execution.

Designed for a private residence in a rural Southern California community, this approximately 900-square-foot, one-bedroom, one-bath ADU extends the architectural character of the primary residence through a refined California Spanish Ranch vocabulary. A true clay barrel-tile roof, Santa Barbara smooth stucco, rustic timber, board-formed concrete posts, and black steel doors establish the exterior, while limestone, exposed trusses, and a linear fireplace shape the open interior. Construction administration included periodic site visits to review quality, constructability, material transitions, and conformance with the drawings as the design progressed into the built work.
